The Flash: Season 5 Outlook on Barry Allen – Cavemen Radio Show
The CW has had unthinkable success with the latest generation of superheroes. From the days where the only hero on the block was Clark Kent on Smallville has grown into a whole new universe. While Smallville isn’t apart of the new DCtv universe, it’s arguably the catalyst that kicked it all off. The excitement has been ever growing since superheroes have been thrust into the forefront with Marvel’s MCU and DC’s DCEU hit big screens. From Arrow to the Flash, to Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning the CW can’t seem to fail.
Season 4 of The Flash wrapped up with one of their most powerful villains to date. Warning of the Thinker was teased in season 3 and came to life in season 4. With his eventual defeat, it’s time to take a look ahead at season 5. A lot has happened in the latest season of the Flash so it’s time to look forward into our crystal ball into each character’s predicted future and of course, we start with the most obvious of choices: Barry Allen aka The Flash.
Barry Allen has been through it all. There was the death of his mother, lock up of his father, his powers, trapped in the speed force, marriage and now, it seems, parent. With his time traveling daughter Nora showing up throughout season 4, it appears she’ll be a main part of season 5. Surely with Barry’s often awkward social interactions are an indicator, then parenthood could be just as challenging. Nora seems to be the fun, energetic, and spunky version of the Allens/Wests. Her connection to the speed force ought to bring Barry closer to Nora but of course, there will more than likely be a wedge between the two especially since Nora claims to be the cause of Barry’s recent struggles.
The Flash has been one of the CW’s more popular shows and with the latest wrinkle in the fold could escalate to more fun and hilarious levels. Barry is already struggling to lead the team and Iris has stepped in. Now the two of them will have to juggle saving the world, leading the team, fighting villains, and their most important struggle, mom and dad. Since Nora West-Allen is clearly a time traveler, Barry will have to juggle her connection to him as well as how her actions affect the current timeline. Could this be the next generation of Flashpoint? How will Barry juggle fatherhood and the future of an entire generation? The Flash returns October 9th on the CW.[CMRickTwitter]
