The Flash: Should Nora Get Her Own Spin-off? – Cavemen Radio Show

Nora on The Flash

Introduced in last season’s crossover episodes, Nora West-Allen has been surrounded in mystery. Until it was later revealed that she was the daughter of future Barry and Iris and is a speedster as well. She travels back in time and we think she’s there to save Team Flash. However, in reality, we later learn that Barry has gone missing, a fact we already knew. Until Nora shows up we didn’t know for how long. 25 years after his disappearance the Flash is still missing leading Nora to travel back in time to get to know her good ol’ dad and the shows latest addition to Team Flash is already stealing the show.

The younger, spunky, energetic and fun character that is Nora could lead to an interesting stand alone show for a younger audience. Whether it aired on the CW or followed CW Seed’s route with the Vixen character and went animated, the network has an a perfect opportunity. While there are strong female presence in every one of their superhero shows, currently the only female lead series is Supergirl. Arrow has Felicity, Flash has Iris and Caitlyn, Legends of Tomorrow has Sarah Lance and now the network is expanding to include Batwoman.

Even with the strong presence of Batwoman being added to the mix, the show’s tone will more likely resemble Arrow more than anything. Putting a young Flash show on the air wouldn’t be a bad idea for the ever-expanding network. Tv’s version of The Flash isn’t always the fun-loving, optimist we’re familiar with from the comics. Insert XS. Her close resemblance to the title character is a perfect opportunity to bring the fun-loving character off the pages. Sure, we don’t need yet another speedster in the Arrow-verse right now, but with Arrow already teasing a future Green Arrow, isn’t it time we get a future Flash?

Imagine a show with a spunky future version of the hit show’s character. If this season’s Flash story arc does eventually end with Team Flash sending Nora back to the future where XS works as a CSI investigating the eventual disappearance of the Flash 25 years into the future? Give her her own set of villains, cross over with Oliver’s son William, and have them be watched over by the Legends of Tomorrow and the whole show could lead way to the next generation of heroes. Even with the element of time travel, current characters could cameo on the shows or play older versions of themselves. Does the CW have enough to go off of for a future Flash show?[CMRickTwitter]
