Game of Thrones: Predicting the Throne – Jon Snow – Cavemen Radio Show

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones has grown into a cultural phenomenon. HBO has had a long history of producing top quality television shows and George R.R. Martin’s book adaptation. Game of Thrones arguably is the most well-received of all their shows and soon it will be coming to an end. The six-episode season 8 will bring the show to a close and hopefully we won’t be disappointed like the end of another HBO heavyweight, The Sopranos. The fade to black heard around the tv world set fans into outrage. Game of Thrones might not make everyone happy the way it ends, but if we get a cheap feeling ending ala the Sopranos, HBO may lose all credibility going forward.

There isn’t a character on the show that couldn’t end up on the Iron Throne at the end. Fans are predicting everyone from Sansa Stark, to Cersei Lannister, and everyone in between. Here at Cavemen Radio Show, we’re just as excited as the rest of the viewers to find out who will be the next king of Westeros. While we have our personal favorites and theories, let’s take a look at each character and their path to the series finale starting with Jon Snow.

Jon Snow went from the bastard son of Ned Stark to him joining the Night’s Watch, then Lord Commander, death, “the King in the North”, and finally unknown to him Aegon Targaryen. Revealed to the viewers as the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark his bloodline connects him to the rightful heir of Westeros. Unfortunately for us, Game of Thrones is never what it seems. Jon Snow does have a claim of the king should he want to take the mantle but he’s more than likely suited for a darker fate.

With the show coming to an end, as much as fans would love to see Jon Snow claim the throne, it’s more likely he’ll suffer his season 5 finale fate. After being stabbed to death in MOther’s Mercy, there’s a good chance Snow dies in battle by season’s end. With the recent set up of Jon and Daenerys’ connection, there’s a good chance that there will be a child born who will be the eventual king of Westeros making Jon Snow expendable to the story. The set up could lead to Danny’s death during childbirth and Snow to lead a blind rage into battle while their son lives on with whoever survives the final battle. The future king is born in season 8 and the time of peace and prosperity is revealed. Jon Snow’s fate on Game of Thrones is most likely sealed and he doesn’t make it out alive.
