Hip Hop: Jay-Z signs longtime rival, Fat Joe to Roc Nation. Do we get a collab next?

It took some time for wounds and pride to heal but finally, almost everything in Hip Hop is where it belongs. The news was just announced Thursday that rivals, Jay-Z and Fat Joe have put their decade-long beef to bed and joined forces.

What this means is that Hip Hop heads can finally rejoice that Joe is back with a major label and hopefully we can get a collab between the two Hip Hop heavyweights. For years, we’ve wondered when this beef would end. It started back in the early 2000’s, no one knows how but the tension just bubbled over when Nas and Jay were at the height of their beef.

Joe, being a friend of Nas kind of sided with the Queens rapper and that may have been the spark to ignite the flame. This is what Joe had to say about the beef last year:

“The moral to the story is that there was bad blood between Roc-A-Fella and Terror Squad for a long time and the next thing I know I seen Nas with Jay Z and there was peace,” Fat Joe shared during an interview with ThisIs50 last year. “But it left me in the outskirts. He didn’t pick up the phone like, ‘Yo, I’m about to squash this.’ I would’ve told him go get money. I’m all about getting money, so I would’ve told him go get money. Now me and these n****s got beef because I was repping you hard.”

In 2016, the two rappers got together for their the “All The Way Up” remix, which fans just slightly brushed off, never did one think that it would lead to this. But, as a fan of both artist, I am extremely happy. We may have to wait a while for the official collab between the two, but you can expect the release of Joe and Remy Ma’s collab album later this year on Roc Nation.
