James Bond 25: The Latest in the 007 Franchise is …
While James Bond the character has been around for 66 years, his on-screen counterpart 57, and 27 unofficial adaptations we’ve finally arrived at the benchmark 25th installment in the actual franchise. Long-time spy fans can’t wait for the latest iteration of the franchise to hit the big screen set for April 2020. Daniel Craig is returning for what could be his final Bond appearance and will hopefully pass the baton on his way out to the next generation to pick up the Bond mantle. No longer do we have to refer to it as Bond 25, with the 007 tweet that went out earlier today:
Yep, that’s it, the new James Bond film will be titled No Time to Die.
If you’re a lifetime James Bond fan you’ll have no trouble jumping on the bandwagon that is the glory of the spy movie. Even as a casual fan, you should get your money’s worth out of the latest release as the Bond films rarely have a counterpart that will match them stride for stride in a spy/action film. More often than not when films attempt a Bond-esque film they’ll tip the scales too far to the action side or too close to the comedy side and never quite hit the sweet spot.
And if you like comedy that’s fine. Throughout the history of cinema, the James Bond films have spawned many parodies and comedies based around the general concept of spy films. From movies like Kingsman to Austin Powers, Spy Kids to Johnny English and so much more, spy films have taken cues from James Bond for decades each paying homage to the franchise in its own way.
If you’re counting down the days, mark your calendars for April 8th, 2020 when James Bond: No Time to Die is set to release. And stay tuned to 007.com for the latest news on everyone’s favorite spy.
