Joker Is The Greatest Comic Book Movie Of All-Time
Joker is the best comic book movie ever made. The Joaquin Phoenix take on the maniacal villain is the best of the character we’ve ever seen. There’s so much that this film does right, and it hits on so many levels. Could this be an Academy Award winning picture?
There has been a lot of buzz for Joker since its debut. Indeed, this is worthy of all the acclaim it has recieved. The film is flawless, about as perfect as you can get when it comes to cinema. Its surprising to say this, however, this is better than Dark Knight in every way.
Let’s get started with Phoenix. This isn’t the first film that the actor has been sensational in. With that being said, this might be the best role he’s ever had. His portrayal of Arthur Fleck was mindblowing. The progression of his character through the film showcases his acting ability. There might not be a bigger lock for Best Actor consideration.
You’re left waiting for Phoenix’s character to fully embrace the Joker persona. It’s so satisfying when he actually does. You almost forget that its Joaquin Phoenix on screen and you’re watching an entirely new character. He embraces the role that much
As for the film itself, Director, Todd Phillips, created a marvelous take on the infamous villain. You really get to see the progression of a mad man. His work pays off big time, especially in the films final 30 minutes. The climax of Joker will keep you on the edge of your seat. However, there are so many other things Phillps got right.
The score to Joker was brilliant. The music really captured the mood. There was one questionable song choice near the end of the film, probably my only gripe with this picture, otherwise the soundtrack really set the mood.
This is a dark film, one that’s brought to life by a strict R rating. This enabled the film to feel a lot more real. You need to applaud Warner Brothers for allowing this to stick to the rating, as Phillips really gets to tell his story as intended. There’s no shortage of violence and adult situations. It’s fitting for a character like Joker.
Whether you’re a comic book fan or cinema fan, you must see Joker. It’s truly one of a kind, as its damn near flawless. There aren’t many movies (atleast this year) that will give you the kind of feeling this does. When all is said and done, this will be one of those films we remember for years to come.
