Josh Allen Is The Reason For The Buffalo Bills 3-0 Start

Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills

Did anyone have the Buffalo Bills at 3-0 to start the season? While they played the New York Giants, New York Jets, and Cincinnati Bengals, it wasn’t expected that they’d be one of the NFL’s lone undefeated teams after Week 3. This can be attributed to Josh Allen, who has taken a major leap in year 2 with the Bills.

Coming out of Wyoming, Allen might end up being the best QB of the 2018 class. He’s got all the tools to be a franchise QB. For a Buffalo team that sits 3-0, there aren’t many other young signal callers Buffalo fans and the coaching staff would want as the starter.

Allen has showcased his talents on the big stage. While not on the level of Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers, there are signs that Allen might be that good in the future. He’s thrown for over 240 yards in all three games thus far, with a TD pass in each game. Although, it’s not the passing which has made Allen such an intriguing name.

The rushing skills of Josh Allen are surprising to say the least. He’s great running with the ball. While the stats don’t show high rush yardage totals, Allen can get out of trouble with his legs. In addition, he’s scored a rushing TD in two of his three games.

It’s this rushing ability that make Allen so intriguing. He plays with a reckless style, one that will need to be toned down as his career goes on. You must admire Allen’s courage and ability to give his all on the field. However, being the Bills bread and butter, there needs to be a greater sense of responsibility on the field.

There aren’t a lot of offensive weapons on the Bills roster. They have rookie RB,Devin Singletary, leading the charge with an aging Frank Gore in the backfield. The WR core features John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Zay Jones, hardly a star-studded unit. This makes Allen’s performances that much better. He’s taking a less than stellar group to new heights.

It’s entirely feasible that Allen becomes an elite QB. The one knock on him coming into the NFL were his accuracy concerns. Last season he threw for a 52.8 completion percentage. In three games this year, Allen has thrown for a 64.1 completion percentage. The improvements are beginning to show.

Buffalo hasn’t had a lot to cheer about over the years. One thing Allen gives them is hope. Finding that franchise QB can sometimes prove to be a monumental undertaking. The Bill’s finally have that. He’s going to lead this team for the next 15 years.

You can’t hate on Josh Allen much longer. He’ll be in the upper tier of NFL QB’s within a few years. It’ll be tough to stop Buffalo when he does. The 3-0 start might be a bit of an overachievment, although, great play is going to be the norm very soon.
