How Close Are Competitors After Loss?
There’s such thing as a Super Bowl hangover, and that’s usually after a team wins. Now the Chiefs have to bounce back after getting absolutely embarrassed by the Bucs. Kansas City beefed up their line for protection but that bad of a loss has to expose more than just line failures. Will the rest of the AFC be able to adjust to the Chiefs’ playstyle now?
Tougher Schedule
To start the season, there’s the Browns, Ravens, Packers, Bills, and Titans who all made the playoffs. The Chiefs made their way through the AFC just fine but those teams have greatly improved since then. Throw in the Cowboys who get Dak back, the Chargers with a second-year Justin Herbert. If the Steelers can get back to their winning ways, it will be tough to get even close to the 14 wins they got last year.
Looking Over Their Shoulders?
The Chiefs should be concerned with any of the playoff teams this year. Not only have the Bills made strides by putting faith in Josh Allen, but the Dolphins should also be improved, the Titans now have Julio Jones, Jon Gruden has the Raiders ready for a breakout. Not only will the regular season be a bit more challenging but the postseason will be twice as hard when teams kick it up to 11.
The Kansas City Chiefs are clear frontrunners of the AFC, but the rest of the conference isn’t too far behind. Can they get their lead back or fall back again?
