Los Angeles Rams: Three Keys on how they will win Super Bowl 53
The Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots are set to do battle on Sunday in Super Bowl 53. While it’s the first time for this matchup with the present cities, this isn’t the first time these two teams have met in the Super Bowl. Back in 2001, the St. Louis Rams took on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 36. In this Super Bowl, the New England Patriots would defeat the St. Louis Rams, 20-17. That would be the first Super Bowl win for Tom Brady.
We will be getting the rematch on Sunday. Where that match saw the Rams as fourteen-point favorites, the line is much closer for this game. In this game and as of this writing, the New England Patriots are the favorites. While they are the favorites, I do see a way that the Los Angeles Rams can win this game.
Now I will be presenting my three ways that the Los Angeles Rams can win their second Super Bowl:
1- Put pressure on Tom Brady- If you recall the two Super Bowls where the Patriots took on the New York Giants, there was one major thing that the Giants did. In both, the Giants put constant pressure on Brady. If the Rams want to win, they can’t allow Brady to get cozy in the pocket. In order to do this, I would use Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh to apply the pressure. Tom Brady has been a pocket passer and has done well. By applying pressure, you are making Brady throw on the run.
2- Limit your mistakes- For most of the Los Angeles Rams, this is their first Super Bowl. The whole Super Bowl stage could be tough for some of these guys. You can’t allow Tom Brady and company to get extra possessions with the ball.
3- Make Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski become a non-factor- Edelman and Gronkowski have played a major role in the Patriots run. In addition, they are Brady’s top targets. If you make them non-factors not allowing them a major play. 2-3 yard catch is ok, not 20-30 yard reception.
My Prediction for this Super Bowl is the Los Angeles Rams 34 and New England Patriots 31.
