Mariah Carey Set To Return To Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

Oh boy! Mariah Carey is returning to New York City again this year to perform. Just a warning, it might be wise to grab some earplugs. No, seriously. If you can recall what happened last year then you will understand. Carey has blessed the music world with her sultry voice over the years with countless hits. However, the meltdown at Dick Clark’s New Years’ Rocking Eve performance was by far, her worst performance ever.

On Friday, ABC announced that Mariah Carey would be returning to perform in front of a live audience in which Carey herself said last year, ” turned into an opportunity to humiliate me”. You think? What else was everyone supposed to do after listening to that crap? But this is the great thing about the country we live in, Carey gets another shot to redeem herself with the world watching.

Was Mariah Carrey or ABC To Blame?

What made matters worse, was that instead of taking the high road, Mariah Carey decided to throw ABC under the bus with her statement:

It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control. It’s not practical for a singer to sing live and be able to hear themselves properly in the middle of Times Square with all the noise, the freezing cold, the smoke from the smoke machines, thousands of people celebrating—specially when their ear monitors were not working at all. Listen, guys—they foiled me. Thus, it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me

She can blame whoever she wants. But performing in Times Square again on the same stage, Carey knows this is “do-or-die” for her career. It’s one thing to bomb and walk away, but it could be career suicide if it happens again.
