If Apple needed someone with clout that could get their streaming service in demand it was Martin Scorsese. No disrespect to the actors and artists who have deals in place before him, but Scorsese brings Apple TV+ from seeming like a fan service to a real player in the game. By inking a deal that spans multiple years, Apple invested in widespread buzz to show they’re major players. Which is exactly what they needed.

So many good shows air on Apple TV+ already. Their lineup is loaded with stars and quality programming. But so far their service has seemed nothing more than a fan pleaser. Now that they have Scorsese in the fold, maybe more than just iPhone/iPad users will take notice of the work going on at Apple.
