Marvel: The time is right for a Justice League vs Avengers movie
The superhero world is by far the most profitable in Hollywood at the moment. Currently, Marvel has top honors and with a slew of movies set to hit theaters over the next couple of years and that trend looks to continue. DC released the much-hyped Batman vs Superman and it took so many hits they decided to rush the Justice League movie.
On the other side of the universe, you have Marvel and The Avengers. The film will wrap up their storyline with a two-part feature film set to hit theaters in 2018 and 2019. But, what real fans want to know is; “when or if we’ll ever get an Avengers vs Justice League movie”?
The easy answer is no.
It’s not because it’s impossible to make, it’s because studio heads and lawyers are too damn greedy.
Let’s skip the money talk and get down to why this movie needs to happen.
Throughout the Avengers, Captain America, Thor, Ironman and now Spider-Man we have watched them fight villains that were no match. It got so boring for the characters that their best fights may have been against one another.
DC has done the same with BvS as they went head-to-head but the beef between those two was over before it really began.
This is where the studios should put their heads together and make the ultimate film.
With the release of Justice League in 2017, we will have the necessary backstories of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash. Marvel has already provided as much with their releases so non-comic geeks are able to relate.
Another issue may be Marvel’s schedule. They are so backlogged that an Avengers vs Justice League can’t happen until 2021 at the earliest unless two of their scheduled films happen to flop.
DC has a tight schedule with The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and another Justice League that they are held back as well. But still, both studios must find a way to make this happen. Marvel is not only doing great on the big screen but thanks to Netflix and Marvel Agents of Shield they have dominated the small screen. But TV still has continued to give life to DC with Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Flash.
But still, how can they deprive us of an all-out war between Captain America, Ironman, Thor, Hulk and their crew going against Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman and theirs?
Money?
A 50/50 split and both universes have their own loyal fan base. Are they really worried about who gets top billing? Flip a coin. Think of the merchandise the movie would sell and if that’s not enough, think about the ticket sales.
With the Star Wars franchise set to release another five movies, they could very well give the superhero franchise a run for their money. But a movie with this much hype, star power, and potential will shatter all Box Office records.
And the most important part, it will finally give the fans what they want.
