MCU: Did They Kill Off This Character Too Soon?
When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, no one is safe. Not our heroes as Infinity War proved with half the universe. Definitely, not our heroes as Endgame proved with Black Widow. Especially not villains as even the mighty Thanos perished. The MCU has been the driving force in movies and television the past few years and has cracked the code for entertaining plot points and their latest show, Hawkeye was no different.
From IMDB.com
Series based on the Marvel Comics superhero Hawkeye, centering on the adventures of Young Avenger, Kate Bishop, who took on the role after the original Avenger, Clint Barton.

More Entertainment: 5 MCU Characters Who We Want Shows For
With the end of Hawkeye, Marvel brought back one of the most popular villains of the Netflix MCU shows, Kingpin. Played by Vincent D’Onofrio, Kingpin is one of the villains who has ties to almost every character the MCU is looking to build off of going forward. If Disney/Marvel were looking to bring back any of the 4 former Netflix shows, he easily has ties to Daredevil. The same Daredevil who (spoiler alert) just showed up in the MCU’s latest movie Spider-Man: No Way Home which given how short it was, seemed more of fan service. Ironically, that same Kingpin has many stories tied to the Spider-Man as well.
But Hawkeye did something by the end of the season and teased the death of Kingpin. In the final minutes, he appears to get shot by who we’ll come to know as Echo. This was probably deliberately done off-camera and we’ll probably circle back around. Since they’ve already announced a show based on the character, this scene could pick up where it left off. It wouldn’t be hard to back down and show her firing a warning shot.

If Marvel and the MCU didn’t truly kill off Kingpin, there are so many interesting ways this character can and should be utilized. They can bring him in to bring back the Netflix shows. He could be the one who bought the Avengers tower. He’d even fit well into the Spider-verse going forward. Since D’Onofrio absolutely nails his role, it would seem like a waste to bring the character back for just one episode.
