MCU: Is The All-Female Led Avengers Movie Happening?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grossed billions of dollars at the Box Office with a slew of movies that led up to Avengers: Endgame. As Marvel enters their Phase 4 slate, the questions surrounding the Avengers have continued. There is no more Captain America or Iron Man, so who will take the mantle? Well, if the whispers are true then we could very well see a new Avengers team with an all-female cast.
According to reports, A-Force could still be in play. But who will be in the cast?
A good nod to that would be to look closely at what transpired in Endgame. During the final battle with Thanos, there was a scene where every woman in the MCU took their shot at defending the glove. With The Wasp, Shuri, Okoye, Captain Marvel, Pepper Potts, Scarlet Witch, Valkyrie, and others, this could be a movie that could change Marvel forever.
In each movie in the MCU, the cast has been dominated by the male lead. While characters such as Black Widow and Gamora have played huge roles, they were still in the background as supporting characters. With Captain Marvel and the soon-to-be-released Black Widow as the only female-led solo films, there is a chance to change the landscape of the female superheroes.

The reason this movie will work is because of such a great cast of characters. For every Captain America fan, they can now lean on Captain Marvel. With no Iron Man, the female version will go to Pepper Potts as Rescue. If Thor is gone, then that role will fall to Jane Foster. As expected, the Black Panther mantle should be passed to his sister Shuri.
Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri had this to say when discussing the possibility of A-Force:
I don’t think we have to fight for it. Victoria Alonso is very strong about spearheading it, alongside Kevin [Feige]. It’s only a matter of time before they do it.
When we did the first Avengers, Kevin Feige told me, ‘Listen, I might not be here tomorrow. Ike [Isaac Perlmutter, Disney’s largest shareholder at the time] does not believe that anyone will go to a female-starring superhero movie. So if I am still here tomorrow, you will know that I won that battle.’” Ruffalo also gave credit to Feige for pushing the issue, saying “He changed the whole Marvel universe. We now have a gay superhero on the way, we have black superheroes, we have female superheroes…No other studio is being that inclusive on that level.
