Men In Black: International Trailer, Can it keep the franchise alive?
The first Men in Black debuted over two decades ago. The original movies introduced the world to Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) and Agent J (Will Smith). The two actors would portray the Agents for the Men in Black, Men in Black 2, and Men in Black 3. There had been reports that another installment to the franchise. However, the only difference is that the two agents in this movie would not be Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones
Back in 2012, we would get Men in Black 3. Once that movie came out, there was talk about doing a fourth movie to the franchise. Chris Hemsworth was the first one to sign on and Tessa Thompson signed on a month later. It’s worth noting that this is a spin-off of the Men in Black series. As we saw in the first three movies, Agent K and Agent J spent most of their time in the NYC area. In this version, Hemsworth and Thompson’s characters spend most of their time in the London area. As someone who saw the first three in the series, I am a bit hesitant and cautious about this movies.
This franchise has been built on the work of Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. It is tough when you are introducing new characters to a franchise without any build. The trailer looked good, but trailers are known for showing good things about a movie. I’m willing to give it a shot, but I have a low bar for this movie.
I’m not discouraging people from seeing the movie. All I am telling people is if they have seen the previous ones, not to expect the best thing. Another thing I am curious to see with this movie is that will they make references to the other movies in the franchise.
Here is the trailer for Men in Black 4: International
