Miami Dolphins: Can They Overcome The Chiefs?
If the Miami Dolphins want to be considered Super Bowl contenders, they must beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Germany. While only one team in history has beaten every team they played and went on to win the Super Bowl. Miami doesn’t need to win to go on and be champions but this weekend is a good barometer.
First and foremost, the Chiefs are the next dynasty in the NFL and have consistently made their playoff push. They’ve gone on to win the Super Bowl as well. If Miami can’t beat teams like the Buffalo Bills and then lose to the Kansas City Chiefs it’ll be hard to say they’re on the path to the Super Bowl. The Bills have won the division the past few years and the Chiefs the Super Bowl. Winning games during the regular season is all fine and dandy, but if they can’t beat playoff teams this season will be a wash.

It will also be a challenge for their new-look defense. The team received a boost with the return of Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard should return from an injury. The duo will play for the first time since training camp against one of the toughest offenses to defend. The biggest challenge of the weekend will be finding a way to shut down both Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
With that being said, Miami will be just as hard to defend. Tyreek Hill especially might want to make a statement against his former team while simultaneously furthering his pursuit of 2,000 yards. The opportunity to have an explosive game will be there. The last time the Dolphins made a statement was their game against the Denver Broncos. Whether they admit it or not, Mike McDaniel putting up 70 points on a team that wouldn’t interview him for a HC job was a statement.
At the end of the day, this might be the most important game of the Miami Dolphins season until the playoffs. If they can’t walk away with a win, the fans might be hanging their heads and throwing in the towel until next season.
