Miami Dolphins: Last Win Proves Flores Is Their Guy
Brian Flores is no stranger to winning in Foxboro. Too bad most of them have been as a member of the New England Patriots. Now head coach of the Miami Dolphins, a win in his old stomping grounds has to be much sweeter.
For Dolphins fans hoping the team would tank for better draft picks, can sit in disappointment. The true fanatics will bask in the glory of a rare win in Gillette Stadium. Walking away with a win not only should give fans cause to celebrate but prove they have their coach of the future.
Maybe the Patriots aren’t as solid of a team as they’ve been in the past. Maybe Tom Brady is starting to show his age. Could talents have took it easy on their former coach? They’ve been rumored to take their foot off the gas late in the year.
Whatever the case may be, Brian Flores won the way he should’ve. Miami was in the lead or tied most of the game. New England would take the lead only late in the fourth quarter. However, Flores wouldn’t be denied. Miami downfield down field in a fashion that would give the Pats the ball back with too few ticks left on the clock to pull their usual comeback. Then one solid stand at the end of the game was enough.
After a blowout loss at home week 2, Flores went to work. From an embarassing loss by 50+ to late antics that sealed the deal. The Miami Dolphins don’t often win in Foxboro and hopefully, this is a sign of things to come.
Maybe some Dolphins fans might be disappointed that Joe Burrow might not be their guy. Maybe it doesn’t matter. With a journeyman QB, Miami got a win in Foxboro. If Flores can do half of what he did this year with a developed quarterback next year, then Miami won’t be in the cellar much longer.
