Miami Dolphins vs Buffalo Bills Week 2 Preview
Week one saw a lot of eye-opening moments for NFL teams. When it comes to the Miami Dolphins they showed they’re still a work in progress. The Buffalo Bills on the other hand looked like a dominant team many thought they would be. When it comes to this week’s matchup it should be easy to predict. Unfortunately, the AFC East isn’t the least bit predictable. Breaking down their week two match-up, here’s what we can expect.
The Dolphins ranked 1st in the NFL in pass defense last week, but the Pats beat them on the ground. The Bills on the other hand seemed to work both sides of the ball. Miami spent a lot of money in the offseason to make sure they weren’t getting thrown all over this year. With today’s NFL being stacked with powerhouse passers it was the smart move, but it leaves them vulnerable to the run.
The Bills could beat them through the air with all their weapons but Miami could buckle down. Luckily for them, they can pivot to the run game. While picking apart the Jets, Josh Allen also showed off his ability to run. However, turnovers were an issue for Allen as he fumbled twice running.
MORE Matchups: Dolphins Week 1 About Leadership
On offense, the Dolphins struggled and we’ll have to wait and see what team shows up. Jordan Howard was a solid pickup but he struggled to gain more yards than he had touches despite his touchdown. The rest of the backs made a solid showing but with split carries it was nothing to write home about.
Then there’s Ryan Fitzpatrick who has his struggle games only yo turn around and have a solid outing the next time out. With rookie offensive lineman holding their own against the Patriots pass rush, they’ll get their first true test in Buffalo. The Bills have both solid pass rushers and a complimentary secondary.
Clearly, the Bills are the more balanced team so the Dolphins will have their hands full. Buffalo should walk away with an easy win, but again, this is the AFC East and nothing ever comes easy.
