Miami Dolphins: Will Tyreek Hill Have The Same Fantasy Value In Miami?
The Miami Dolphins have made the move of the offseason by trading for Tyreek Hill. They needed a revamp of their WR unit and they got it this offseason. Fortunately for their fans, it’ll be fantastic to see on game day. But does the move hurt his value in fantasy football by signing with a struggling offense?
It doesn’t matter how good or bad the Miami Dolphins are this year, Tyreek Hill will be a gamechanger. However, the Dolphins are yet to prove they can be as explosive as the Chiefs. In most fantasy drafts, Hil was one of the first players selected early on. Breaking down the Miami Dolphins, will it hurt his fantasy value:
Supporting Cast
The Miami Dolphins have talent on offense, but it’s not quite KC. Tua hasn’t proved he can be as good as Mahomes. Travis Kelce is in a league of his own while Mike Gesicki is inconsistent. And the Dolphins’ offensive line still to this day hasn’t lived up to their potential each year. Luckily for Hill, Miami comes with a bit more weapons than KC despite not being as explosive. The team already has rookie sensation, Jaylen Waddle. They picked up Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert. All while adding offensive mind Mike McDaniel to the mix. Their potential is through the roof but …
Chemistry Needs To Be Established
It all looks good on paper, but another area Hill will fall back on is an already established QB/WR connection. There’s no doubt that Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill will eventually be in sync, it’s going to take a few games early in the season to establish chemistry. Yes, they’re professionals, but when it comes to the NFL, timing is key and it will take time to develop that timing. Tua will also have to test Tyreek Hill out to learn his strengths as to where he can throw a football. Can he pick throws down towards the grass? How high is out of reach? How much touch can he have on a football when it comes to leading the speedy WR? These are all things that will come with time. Maybe they’ll have that instant connection, but that rarely happens.

A Whole New Offense
Speaking of things that will take time to develop, Mike McDaniel will surely be the offensive mind the Dolphins need, but how long before their new offense is in full swing? With McDaniel and Frank Smith, there are going to be dramatic changes to their offense. The entire offense now has to learn new assignments, blocking schemes, and where to pick up when another guy struggles. These are things that can be learned in camp and preseason, but more often than not they flow into the first few games of the regular season. It’ll be on the coaches to make those adjustments.
Potential is the name of the game for the Miami Dolphins this season. This team can be explosive and make big strides, but more than likely it won’t be early on. Tyreek Hill might have a new home but there will be hurdles to overcome. With that being said, despite not being as established, the Dolphins may have added enough weapons to actually increase Hill’s productivity. With everything factored in, he still should be a top producer in fantasy football this season.
