Why The Forgotten Sons Will Take the Smackdown Tag Titles
While it seems that everything is on hold with the current COVID-19 situation, the pro wrestling world continues. WWE held the first WrestleMania in front of no one a few weeks ago. On Sunday, they will be holding the annual Money in the Bank PPV. One of the titles being defended is the Smackdown Tag titles in a fatal four-way. We will see the tag team champions the New Day take on the Lucha House Party, Miz and Morrison, and the former NXT team of the Forgotten Sons.
While the New Day has been one of the more dominating teams in Smackdown in a number of years. With how they have booked the Lucha House Party, they are probably not going to win the titles. However, with how WWE books with no logic, Lucha House Party could win the belts. As far as Miz and Morrison, I don’t see them winning the belts again. They held the belts earlier in the year. I don’t see them winning the belts again. Now that leaves the team of the Forgotten Sons.

In case you didn’t see the Forgotten Sons in NXT, they are a team that consists of Wesley Blake, Steven Cutler, and Jaxson Ryker. They formed together in 2017 and weren’t really used much in NXT. We then saw them debut on the Smackdown against the New Day. Over the next couple of weeks, we would see them get a push. While this push could be a result of the current situation. You aren’t going to see a team make a debut, go after the tag champions, and not have them take the belts off of them.
We have seen a few times where a star doesn’t get used much on NXT, but are used much more when they come to either Raw or Smackdown. The most recent one that I recall is when Elias came up from NXT to the main roster.
Money in the Bank airs this Sunday on the WWE Network.
