Mitch Trubisky: May Be Out Of A Job If The Chicago Bears Don’t Improve

Mitch Trubisky

Is the end near for Mitch Trubisky? The third-year QB has had his struggles this season, leading many to believe he’s in big trouble. Chicago Bears fans patience isn’t high. If expectations aren’t met soon, expect there to be some revolt against the struggling quarterback.

We know those in Chicago want to see winning football. There’s not a fan in Bears country who believes, at this very moment, that Trubisky is the QB to lead them to the Super Bowl. Yes, he did take the Bears to the playoffs, but most of that can be credited to the defense and Khalil Mack.

Chicago passed on DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes to take Trubisky. That’s got to sting a little. Had the Bears had one of them, just imagine how good they’d have been on offense. It might be as good, if not better, than the defense.

Who the Chicago Bears didn’t take is irrelevant now. Trubisky is the starting QB. However, it’s hard to imagine he’s got much confidence after the first two games of the season. With a passer rating below 60 in both contests, Trubisky is struggling. He has yet to throw a TD. The Bears offense has only scored 19 points. To make matters worse, Trubisky has the second highest percentage of uncatchable passes with 27.8 percent.

A QB is the most important player on the field. If Trubisky keeps up this play, the playoffs won’t be happening this season. We know he’s capable of big games. In 2018, Trubisky had a 354 yard passing and 6 TD effort during a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That’s the Trubisky Bears fans and the coaching staff wants to see.

How does Trubisky overcome the odds and succeed? It’s not going to be smooth sailing for him the rest of the way. You can bet your last dollar Bears General Manager, Ryan Pace, won’t hesitate to select a QB early in next years draft. These are a make it or break it final 14 games for him. He’ll be out of the job soon if things don’t improve.

There aren’t many that believe in Mitch Trubisky. He’s not really given anyone reason to. Aside from a few big games, the QB hasn’t looked that good. If the season continues down this path, there will be a new starting QB in Chicago next year.
