As the Boston Red Sox are wrapping up the 2019 season soon, they are making changes to the front office. The first move was made late Monday night when they parted ways with team president Dave Dombrowski. According to the release, the move was made by team owner John Henry, Chairman Tom Werner, and President &CEO Sam Kennedy. Dave Dombrowski was apart of the Boston Red Sox organization since 2015.

In the release, it seems that they put Dombrowski over. As John Henry said, “Four years ago, we were faced with a critical decision about the direction of the franchise.” In his time with the Red Sox, he led the organization to three AL East divisional titles and one World Series. It’s worth noting that the search for Dombrowski’s replacement will begin immediately. Now it will be interesting to see if Dave Dombrowski heads to another team. If he does go to another team, I would love for it to be the New York Mets.

The New York Mets are in an interesting position. They have a clear shot to the Wild Card, but with the season coming to an end they can’t keep losing like they have. The lost there previous series to the Phillies. The Mets are in no position to lose any series. If they miss the playoffs, the Mets should clean house. I’m aware that this is Brodie Van Wagenen’s first season with the team, but it wasn’t the right choice to bring him in. The Mets need a GM who knows what it takes to win and Dombrowski knows what it takes to win. The Mets are in one of the biggest markets in the world and play like a secondary or third level market.

The New York Mets begin a crucial series as they welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks into Citi Field for a four-game set. The Diamondbacks are only 3 games ahead of the Mets in wins.
