Movies: 100 New Movie Challenge September 2021 Pt 2
Four Good Days – Hulu
If you’re looking for a Mila Kunis movie but aren’t sold on watching a comedy then try Four Good Days. Kunis plays a drug addict looking to get her life back in order, while her mother, played by Glenn Close struggles to support her. Four Good Days shows just how much addiction affects more than just the addict.
The Fundamentals of Caring – Netflix
Paul Rudd stars in this comedic drama similar to the Kevin Hart/Bryan Cranston movie The Upside. Instead of an older, rich, man hiring him to be a personal assistant/caretaker. Rudd plays a down-on-his-luck man looking to find redemption for his past mistakes. He meets Trevor (played by Craig Roberts) who he connects with just enough to take a road trip, showing him all the things he’s scared to live for.

Home – Netflix
A family-friendly film about an alien invasion that displaces the entire human race so aliens can find a new home. The hard part of this one was hearing Jim Parsons and not think of him as Sheldon Cooper. In typical hijinks fashion Oh (played by Parsons) runs into Tip (played by Rhianna) who’s looking for her long-lost mother. Their mutual mistrust builds throughout the movie leading to comedy and eventual friendship. If generic family movies are your thing then this will please the kids.
Wish Dragon – Netflix
Wish Dragon is another family-friendly animated film that takes a story similar to Aladdin and gives it its own little spin. Instead of a poor villager who falls in love with the princess and finds a magical genie, Wish Dragon is about a young boy who falls for his childhood crush. Her family goes on to be successful while he still works delivery. He stumbles upon a Wish Dragon looking to make amends for his past life who grants him three wishes. He of course uses those wishes to try and gain the attention and respect of his long-lost love.
Gunpowder Milkshake – Netflix
Is Karen Gillian becoming the next action star? She’s been pretty badass lately. As Nebula in the MCU, as Ruby Roundhouse in Jumanji, and now her role in Gunpowder Milkshake we hope so. A hired assassin whose day goes from bad to worse, her job turns into hunting down and protecting a former mark’s daughter. Violence and badass fight scenes litter this Netflix gem and could be exactly what you need in your movie rotation.
