NBA Free Agency: Top 5 Free Agent Point Guards This Offseason
With the NBA Finals over and the 2018 NBA Draft complete, it’s time for teams to get to the heart of the NBA offseason. That means trades and NBA Free Agency. With teams looking to make a run and dethrone the Golden State Warriors, one of the main positions to look at will be the PG’s. While the class in 2018 is not as loaded as year’s past, there is still some talent available.
Here is a look at the top 5 Point Guards available in NBA Free Agency.
Chris Paul
There’s no doubt that Paul will re-sign with the Houston Rockets this summer. But should the Rockets take another expensive gamble on him? Last season, Paul averaged 18.6 points and 7.9 assists. However, he played in only 58 games for the Rockets. And to make matter worse, he missed the last two remaining games in the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors. This has been a calling card of Paul’s for a few seasons. Can he still play at a high level? Yes, but is he worth $25+ million?
[MarkAds]Isaiah Thomas
What has happened to Thomas? Just a season ago he was the darling of the NBA while leading the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals. However, in the offseason, he was shipped to the Cleveland Cavaliers, then the Cavs turned around and traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers. With Thomas stating that he wants to be a starter, will there be any teams willing to pay him close to $15+ million?
