NBA Rumors: Philadelphia 76ers Could Make a Huge Trade For Bradley Beal

The Philadelphia 76ers should send a thank you note to Sam Hinkie for so many reasons. Without his bold moves, there’s no telling where this franchise would be. But is it safe to say, they would not have won 52 games after being just two years removed from winning 10. Well, things have definitely changed for the Sixers and after the 2018 NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday night, it’s could get better. With the Sixers grabbing the Lakers No. 10 pick, they could make a move for Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards.

Yes, I know the talk of the offseason will be focused on LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard. However, what plagued the Sixers against the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs was their inability to create their own shot. This is where a player like Beal comes in handy.

During his time with the Wizards, Beal has played second-fiddle to John Wall, But in Philly, he could be the missing link to a title.

Last season, Beal averaged 22.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting 46 percent from the floor. The issues in Washington are not going anywhere as Beal and Wall make up one of the top backcourts in the league but have yet to reach their potential. There are rumors, according to Hoops Hype that the Wizards could move Beal to the Los Angeles Clippers this offseason. But why the Clippers when they could get so much more from the Sixers.

Could Bradley Beal Be The Answer For The Sixers?

Think about what the Sixers could offer the Wizards. The No. 10 pick, Robert Covington/Markelle Fultz, and maybe two-second rounders. This may work for both teams as the Wizards will have to look at the bigger picture here. What have they won with Beal and Wall together? In making a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Wizards will be able to use their first rounder and the Sixers lottery pick to revamp their roster.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, this is a deal that must happen. While J.J. Redick was solid as their SG, Beal is a major upgrade. He’s a defensive terror on the perimeter and has the ability to not only knock down the open looks but create his own as well. While Ben Simmons caught a majority of slack throughout the year for his lack of perimeter shots, imagine how lethal he could be with a backcourt mate who can create and slash to the basket like Beal can. Adding Beal will also open up things more for Joel Embiib in the paint.

What the Sixers will have to consider is money. Beal is signed through the next three years with an average of $26 million per, according to Sportrac. Now, by adding Beal, the Sixers can still bring in LeBron James and form one heck of a team heading into the 2018-19 season.
