NBA Trade Rumors: 5 teams that must make a deal
Sacramento Kings:
The Kings are in a tight situation here. Despite their recent history of poor play, the Kings are only one game out of the playoff race in the Western Conference. Rudy Gay has stated that he will not resign and if the Kings are fighting for a playoff berth, what do they do? Do they keep the team intact and pray that a playoff appearance changes his mind or do they ship him out and destroy the team’s current chemistry? If they are to let him go, they do have a replacement in Omri Casspi but Gay will need to be moved in order for the Kings to bring in a SG than can hit from the perimeter and slash to the basket. This is where the Kings can reach out to the New Orleans Pelicans and check the availability of Tyreke Evans. If the goal is to keep DeMarcus Cousin happy, he will need the perimeter help to keep defenses from sagging on him in the post.
