Netflix: Mr. Iglesias Newest Must See Show, Full of Laughs

A comedian getting his own show is not uncommon. Some comedians that come to mind include George Lopez, Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Ramano, and Kevin James are the ones that come to mind. Well, we can now add Mr. Fluffy himself, Gabriel Iglesias to that list.

On June 21st, Netflix debuted their new sitcom called “Mr. Iglesias.” This show stars Gabriel Iglesias as the history teacher, Mr. Iglesias. Sherri Sheppard plays the princpal. Jacob Vargas, Maggie Geha, Cree Cicchino, Fabrizo Guido, and Tucker Albrizzi are some of the people who make up this cast. The premise of the show is that Gabriel Iglesias’ charcter is an alma mater of the high school. He is asked to come back as a history teacher and teach the students who aren’t doing well. The story told is similar to Coach Carter or Dangerous Minds. In the sense that it takes for a teacher to help them.

I’m midway through season 1 and it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It comes off like a show that would have done well on TV in the late 1990’s or early 2000’s. It has both comedy, good story telling, and you end up learning a valuable lesson. You don’t have to be a fan of Mr. Fluffy and you can watch this with the kids. This show has its dirty joke moments, but it’s written well enough where you don’t notice it.

I’ll admit that the promos are what drove me into the show. They were done well enough that made this show look funny. While we are in the summer and there’s nothing new on TV, I would highly reconmend watching this. Being how the shows are done, you can go through the first season in a couple of days.
