New York Giants 2018 Schedule: Redemption Is Possible
The 2017 season was a dud for the New York Giants.
They ended up going 3-13 and have obtained the second pick in the upcoming draft. However, if you look past the 2018 NFL Draft and what the roster will be next season, it is not too early to look at who they will be playing next season. The exact schedule itself hasn’t been made yet, we just know who the Giants will be playing next season.
For starters, you have your six games against the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys. As we saw in the 2017 season, the Giants didn’t fare well against their divisional opponents. They ended up going 1-5 against them with the only win coming in Week 17 against the Redskins.
[JonBlayneAds]The Giants do face one major problem in 2018. They end up playing five teams that had winning records in 2017. They will go up against the likes of the Atlanta Falcons (10-6 in 2017), Carolina Panthers (11-5 in 2017), New Orleans Saints (11-5 in 2017), Jacksonville Jaguars (10-6 in 2017), and the Tennessee Titans (9-7 in 2017).
It is also worth noting that all of these teams are currently in the playoffs this season. As we saw last season for the Giants, they didn’t do very well when it came to teams that were good. While I hope that they revamp the team enough, I don’t see them winning all of these games. In all honesty, I see them going 3-3 or 4-2 at best.
On the other side, the Giants will also look for wins against teams that went below .500 in 2017. Those opponents are the Houston Texans (4-12 in 2017), Indianapolis Colts (4-12 in 2017), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-11 in 2017), Chicago Bears (5-11 in 2017), and the San Francisco 49ers (6-10 in 2017).
On paper, these look like winnable games, but I highly doubt that. Houston should bounce back next season when JJ Watt and DeShaun Watson come back, the 49ers looked very good with Jimmy Garoppolo. We don’t know what Colts or Bears team we will get.
I know this is early, but looking at there schedule I could see 8-10 wins for 2018.
