New York Giants: They need to take a quarterback with the second pick

In a few weeks, the 2018 NFL draft will be going on. For the first time since taking Lawrence Taylor with the second pick of the 1981 draft, the New York Giants will have a top 3 pick. Since the season came to an end, they have been linked to many players that include Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Saquon Barkley, and others. There has also been the feeling that the Giants could trade the pick. There has also been a small group of people who are saying that the Giants should take Barkley with the pick.

While Barkley would be a great addition to this team, it would not be on the top of my list.
It is safe to say that Eli Manning has, at best, 2-3 years left in him. You don’t know what you have in Davis Webb as we have not seen much of him. This was also indicated by the fact that we didn’t see much of him during the end of the season. Due to the fact that you don’t know what you have in Davis Webb, it would make all the sense to take someone like a Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, or Josh Allen. The reason why Josh Rosen wasn’t on that list is he has suffered from many concussions. So he is very injury prone.

I’ll put it like this, the New York Giants have an opportunity to get someone who can replace Eli Manning. Who knows when this will happen again and when will the Giants have a top 3 pick again. They are not typically a team that people mention in the top ten, let alone top 3 picks. You could work on the other needs later in the draft or even in June. Since that is when there will be another string of free agents.

The NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 26th.
