New York Giants: The Addition of Sam Bradford Would Help

For the second consecutive year, the New York Giants are one of the worst teams in the National Football League. Since Eli Manning’s play has gone down a lot, the Giants will be looking for someone to replace him soon. It seems more than likely that the Giants will be taking a quarterback in the 2019 NFL Draft. They are going to need someone to play the middleman between Eli Manning and whomever they take in the draft.

On Saturday afternoon, it was announced that the Arizona Cardinals had released Sam Bradford in favor of the rookie, Josh Rosen. Due to the issues the Giants are having at QB, they would be fools to not make a call to Sam Bradford and bring him in. For starters, he is very familiar with Pat Shurmur’s system. Pat Shurmur was the offensive coordinator in Minnesota in the 2016 and 2017 season.

The starting QB was Sam Bradford. He saw a revive in his career when he came to the Vikings. Also, he knows what it takes to play in the NFC East. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2015 season. I mention this part because not everyone is ready to play in what is arguably one of the tougher divisions. It is a tough division because when the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and Philadelphia Eagles play one another, it is a more physical kind of game.

I would see about signing him to a 1-2-year deal. Not long because this is more to have a stop gap. As we see this year, the offensive line is terrible. The Giants would be foolish to throw a rookie QB behind them. Bringing in someone like a Sam Bradford can allow whomever they pick to get to learn and watch. The Giants are in no place to just place the rookie out there in week 1 of the 2019 NFL season.
