New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox: Watch ALDS Game 1 Online

For the last 100 years, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have had one of the more competitive rivalries. This has become one of the more iconic rivalries in all sports cause there is so much history between the teams. The 2018 chapter just adds another wrinkle into this rivalry. You have two rookie mangers in Aaron Boone and Alex Cora. Both teams won over 100 games in the season.

When these teams set for battle on Friday night, it will be the first time since 2004 that these teams played each other in the playoffs. If you recall, the 2004 chapter saw the Boston Red Sox come back from 3-0 down to win the ALCS. For Game 1, both managers went with guys who dominated in 2018. Yankees manager Aaron Boone has decided to give JA Happ the ball to start Game 1. He is coming into this game with a 17-6 record and has a 3.65 ERA.

He may not have a great win-loss record against the Red Sox this season, but he is supporting a 1.99 ERA against the divisional winners. Since the Yankees traded for Happ at the deadline, he has gone 7-0 in eleven starts. You can throw in the fact that he also has a 2.69 ERA in those eleven starts.

Alex Cora of the Boston Red Sox has decided to start Chris Sale in Game 1. During the 2018 season, Chris Sale went 12-4 with a 2.11 ERA. While he has had impressive numbers during the season, you really can’t say the same about his postseason record. He has an 0-2 record with an 8.38 ERA. I suspect this to be another classic Red Sox/Yankees series and personally, I suspect we are going the distance to a Game 5.
