NFL: 5 Quarterbacks Likely On The Move and Predicting Where To

NFL QB Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay Packers and potential New York jets qb

The 2021-2022 NFL season has been bizarre. But don’t look for the stories to stop there as this offseason there should be plenty to talk about. If rumors are true, there ought to be some big names on the move this offseason:

Aaron Rodgers:

Aaron Rodgers of the NFL

Hopefully this is the year we put the Aaron Rodgers Saga to bed. Enough is enough as every year he’s got new demands, is unhappy with the team, and has a contract dispute. Look Rodgers can be one of the best in the NFL but if he’s not winning championships it’s all for nothing. Green Bay looks to be in line for a Super Bowl this year but if they come up short yet again, GB holds the cards on moving on. They’ve played hardball before despite talent, we’ll see if they do again. Rodgers could have his pick but probably won’t be back in GB. He’s from California and if SF still isn’t certain about QBs.

Jimmy Garappolo

Jimmy G was once considered the savior in San Fran. Now he struggles with consistency and the 49ers have a young QB in the wings. There has to be a market for him despite his inconsistency. San Fran could be looking to recover what they gave up for him but they’d have to have undoubted faith in Trey Lance in order to make such a move. If not, they’re investing a lot into a position there’s little consistency. Garappolo wouldn’t have a huge market but could be hot for teams looking for a bridge to their future QB. Houston is an interesting choice.

Russell Wilson

Rumors have swirled about Wilson’s unhappiness in Seattle for some time now. There was a brief period where people questioned if he’d be moved before this season. He ultimately chose to stick it out in Seattle but the Seahawks did very little to address the issues the offense has been having. They still don’t have consistency and Wilson is constantly running for his life. He’s already won a Super Bowl, but if the team can’t commit to improving than why should he commit to the team.  New Orleans would be a perfect fit.

DeShaun Watson

This should be a given. He’s not happy in Houston and Houston isn’t happy with him. He’s still considered one of the top young QBs in the NFL so for him to be buried on a depth chart is telling. If all his issues outside of football are cleared up, he ought to be the first domino to fall in free agency for QBs. There’s already a market for him but Denver should be his next stop.

Matt Ryan

Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan

The Falcons should’ve moved on from Matt Ryan last year. Not because of Ryan but because they’re not in the best position to win games. The thought that Kyle Pitts would be enough to fix their struggling receiving unit was high hopes. Atlanta needs a rebuild and they have young talent to push boundaries. Do Ryan a solid and let him go somewhere he can compete. Letting him go to divisional rivals like Carolina isn’t ideal, but the rest of the division would have to face him just the same.

The NFL was out of control this year, and with the current landscape of teams that need to make big splashes this offseason you can bet these top names might find new homes.
