NFL: Antonio Brown facing more problems
It has been a crazy year for New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown. He was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Oakland Raiders after he video taped the Steelers locker room after a playoff win. When he got to Oakland, he didn’t like that they wouldn’t let him use his old helmet. This lead to more problems between Brown and the Raiders. It got to the point that the Raiders released him. Them he signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots. While it seemed that everything was getting better, there were more problems facing Antonio Brown.
According to ESPN, he has been accused of sexually assaulting his former trainer, Britney Taylor. In the paperwork, Taylor accuses Brown of sexually assaulting her on three different occasions between 2017 and 2018. The Patriots released a statement on the lawsuit. They said, “ We are aware of the civil lawsuit that was filed earlier today (tuesday) against Antonio Brown, as well as the response by Antonio’s representatives.” They would go on by saying, “ We take these allegations very seriously. Under no circumstances does this organization condone sexual violence or assault. The league has informed us that they are investigating, We will have no further comment while that investigation takes place.”
In the lawsuit, Britney Taylor lays out what happens in the three times. The first one was in June of 2017. According to the lawsuit, Taylor says how Brown exposed himself and ended up kissing her without her consent. The second alleged incident took place a month later at Brown’s home in Miami, Florida. According to the suit, Brown masterbated near her without her knowledge and ejaculated on her back. He would then brag about the incident through a series of text messages. The last alleged incident took place in May of 2018. After Taylor and Brown went out to a Miami area club, she would end up going back to Brown’s home. When they got home, she took a shower, got a bite to eat and then he forced her on the bed and raped her.
After this lawsuit became public, Brown’s lawyer, Darren Heitner, made a comment on behalf of his client. In a statement, he said, that his client and Taylor were involved in a “consensual personal relationship. “ Any sexual interaction that happened was entirely consensual. Brown has already gone on record that he will be fighting this tooth and nail.
As of now, there is no knowledge if he will be making his debut with the New England Patriots as they take on the Miami Dolphins.
