NFL: Biggest Matchups of Week 4 (2021)

Patriots QB Tom Brady

Four weeks into the NFL season ought to start showing each team’s hands. A win here or an upset there doesn’t carry a lot of weight until the season is further in. Teams can get lucky early on and immediately fall off. With Week 4 approaching, here’s a list of the top matchups:

Arizona Cardinals 3-0 vs Los Angeles Rams (3-0)

Undefeated meets undefeated. The Cardinals and Rams both have had big wins early on but it won’t matter until the two take the field in week 4. The Rams look to be the new powerhouse in the NFL while the Cardinals look to show they’re for real this season. We’re getting the up-and-coming gunslinger vs the aging vet trying to earn his crown.

San Francisco 49ers (2-1)vs Seattle Seahawks (1-2)

Division rivals are always tough games and this one should be fun. The Seahawks look like a shell of their former selves while the 49ers have been battling critics. Both need to come out and shake off their struggles and prove they can keep pace with the rest of the division.

Baltimore Ravens (2-1) vs Denver Broncos (3-0)

The Ravens are coming off a huge win against the Chiefs but barely beat the Lions. The Broncos are 3-0 for the first time in a few seasons. Denver could walk away with a big upset here if they can get pressure on Lamar Jackson. Baltimore needs to show their defense can be just as potent proving they’re not a fluke. The Ravens look for real this year, if Denver walks away with a win it could be with an exclamation point.

Las Vegas Raiders (3-0) vs Los Angeles Chargers (2-1)

The Raiders barely hung on to beat the Dolphins in overtime while the Chargers also just came off a huge win against the Chiefs. LA needed that win to prove that Justin Herbert can win the big games. LV needed a win to stay undefeated. Divisional play will start to separate teams from the pack. Who outduels who early on.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) vs New England Patriots (1-2)

Tom Brady’s long-awaited return to New England. After walking away from the team that drafted him and the face of the franchise, Brady needed to answer the question “is it Brady or the system?” He went on the win the Super Bowl, the system didn’t work for new QB Cam Newton. There’s no love lost between Brady and Belichick and this game will more than end that question. Look for TB to lay it on thick.
