NFL: Biggest Matchups of Week 5 (2021)

NFL QB Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys

Week 5 has to be one of the more boring weeks scheduled in the NFL season. There aren’t a ton of games that feel like they’re must-watch. While each fan base will have their die-hard fans tuning in, this week’s games should be skipped to spend more time with the family out and about before the winter hits. Either way, here are this week’s top matchups:

Green Bay Packers (3-1) vs Cincinnati Bengals (3-1)

Both the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals lead their division. The Packers have a quarterback on his way out. The Bengals have their QB of the future. Each team has the rest of the division hot on their heels and needs to come away with a win to distance themselves from their tough divisions. The Bengals are 2-0 at home while Green Bay is 1-1 on the road.

Cleveland Browns (3-1) vs Los Angeles Chargers (3-1)

Both the Browns and Chargers have come away with big wins this season. The Browns took it to the Chiefs on their home field and almost walked away with a win. LA barely lost to the Cowboys at home. The Chargers just took it to an undefeated Raiders team. Now Cleveland and LA face off with two of the most talked-about young QBs in the league. A win today pushes their playoff potential to the next level.

New York Giants (1-3) vs Dallas Cowboys (3-1)

With how historically bad the Giants have been lately, this game shouldn’t even be talked about. However, for some reason, Dallas and New York always have either a blowout or a shootout. There’s either a lopsided game or a nail-bitter. The rivalry between the two is as exciting as it gets most years for the Giants fans, but despite tallying one win the Giants aren’t too far out on the division. Dallas on the other hand needs a win to fend off the streaking Washington Football Team.

Indianapolis Colts (1-3) vs Baltimore Ravens (3-1)

While a one-win team facing a one-loss team shouldn’t be considered a top matchup, both teams need a victory today. The Colts finally seemed to find their footing against a struggling Dolphins team and Baltimore has been towards the top of their division. The AFC South is up for grabs right now while the leading Titans are struggling. On the other hand, the AFC North is also up for grabs whenever a team decides to pull away from the rest of the pack.

Buffalo Bills (3-1) vs Kansas City Chiefs (2-2)

The Bills vs the Chiefs will probably be one of the biggest matchups this NFL season. One was a Super Bowl favorite coming into this season, the other was to be the next dynasty. The Bills have no competition in the division right now as their rivals are all 1-3. The Chiefs are in last place and need a bounce-back at home to stay in the race. This is a huge statement game for Buffalo and a must-win for the Chiefs
