NFL: Biggest Matchups of Week 6 (2021)

NFL Patriots Mac Jones

Week 6 of the NFL season picks up the slack for Week 5. With more interesting matchups,  here’s what to look forward to in this week’s matchups:

Pittsburgh Steelers (2-3) vs Seattle Seahawks (2-3)

Two teams with a losing record facing off in the NFL isn’t really worth looking forward to in some people’s minds. However, with both teams underperforming with star quarterbacks this might be the last time these two players face off. Both need to get back into the hunt in their division and both have the talent to turn things around. Both teams need to shake off the losses, dust themselves off, and show they can keep pace with the division.

Las Vegas Raiders (3-2) vs Denver Broncos (3-2)

The Raiders have been the talk of the NFL this week and not in a good way. With all the controversy surrounding Jon Gruden, it’s almost hard to believe the Raiders still have a winning record. They’re not too far off of the division lead and neither are the Denver Broncos. With a win this week and a Chargers loss, there’d be a tie atop the division making the AFC West a bit more interesting.

Dallas Cowboys (4-1) vs New England Patriots (2-3)

The Dallas Cowboys are finally starting to look like what the rest of the NFL expected. The Patriots on the other hand have been up and down. Two of the most-watched franchises in the league will face off and will surely gather some attention. The Cowboys need a win on the road and this will be another big test for the rookie quarterback Mac Jones.

Arizona Cardinals (5-0) vs Cleveland Browns (3-2)

The Cardinals are the hottest team in the NFL right now but the Browns have been making trouble for opponents. Cleveland can make a huge statement giving the Cardinals a loss. Arizona is coming off a game where they struggled against a team with an identity crisis in San Francisco. If the Browns win and the Ravens lose they’d tie the division. If Arizona loses and the Rams win it would be a tie for theirs as well. There’s a lot of “if, then” with this game as the top competitors in the league start to take shape.

Kansas City Chiefs (2-3) vs Washington Football Team (2-3)

The Chiefs are struggling this season and so is the Washington Football Team. Neither team needs another loss on their record as their divisions start to pull away. The difference being the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes who has won a Super Bowl and made another. Washington is working with their backup quarterback. Either team could be walking away with the season lost if they can’t walk away with a win this week.

As we approach the midway point of the season, games and wins are finally starting to weigh a little heavier.
