NFL: Does The Super Bowl Run Through The AFC/NFC East?
What an upside-down year this NFL season has been. Good teams are bad, bad teams are okay, and no one team is proving they’re unbeatable. This season is proving the old “any given Sunday” cliche but do the two East divisions have an early look at the big dance?
AFC East
The Buffalo Bills are still one of the top teams in football. They’re easily a favorite to win the division. They’ve dominated the past few seasons and are showing no signs of slowing down. Buffalo knocked off the Chiefs earlier this season and proving they’re ready to get to the next level. Even with a slip-up against the Jets, they’re still able to make big plays at any given moment going forward.
The New York Jets are the surprise of the NFL this season. Not only are they finding ways to win football games, but they’re also finding ways to win against good teams. They’ve won two division matchups against the Dolphins and now the Bills.
The Miami Dolphins are looking like a new team. At this point last year the Phins were 1-7. This year they’re 6-3. The most significant difference between the two years is the flip-flop on each football side. The Dolphins had one of the best defenses in the league the past few years and a shaky offense. The offense this year is one of the tops in the league this year but the defense can’t find its footing. Luckily for them, Tua and Co. seem to score at will.
The New England Patriots are in dead last in the division but are still only one game away from being right in it. Never count out the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick. If they go on a late-season run, they easily could be a playoff contender.

NFC East
The Philadelphia Eagles look like the team to beat. At 8-0 they’ve got the rest of the NFL guessing. They’ve found out what works for Jalen Hurts and have a schedule that will favor them down the stretch. Other than divisional games, they could have their way with their remaining games.
The Dallas Cowboys aren’t too shabby themselves. They’ve found a second life with their run game this year and they’re getting Dak Prescott back healthy. A healthy Dallas team can be scary so long as they can control the game to their style of football.
New York Giants are another surprise team of 2022. Who had the Giants at 6-2 come their bye week with a new HC and struggling QB? Not many that’s for sure. However, Brian Daboll has proven he knows what it takes to get the best out of his guys and plays to their strength. Their stout defense will keep them in games and if they can limit mistakes, they can be trouble.
The Washington Commanders are the lone team with a losing record but they might be in luck. There’s a good chance they miss the playoffs but there’s still plenty of football left to be played. With plenty of division games on the schedule, there’s going to be a shake-up down the stretch. They’ll need to find consistency but they’re not out of it yet.
Neither the AFC East or NFC East have a clear favorite to win but both have shown that plenty of teams can dominate. Will the Super Bowl come down to an AFC/NFC East matchup?
