One of the bigger conversations among NFL fans is who is the Greatest of All-Time (aka G.O.A.T). Obviously, it all depends on what position you are talking about. However, when GOAT is brought up, most of the time it’s about the Quarterback. When you look at the QB’s who have been in the discussion of GOAT, the list is rather long. People say that Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, John Elway, Brett Farve, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning are the ones typically brought up in regards to the GOAT of the NFL. However, there seems to be one person not usually brought up on that list.

Drew Brees has been in the NFL since 2002. He was taken in the 2nd Round (32nd overall in the 2001 NFL Draft). In the 14 years, Brees has been one of the better QBs in the NFL. Except for the 2003 season in which he started eleven games, he has pretty much played every game in the season. But when you look at the stats, he is in the top 5 of almost every passing record in the NFL. This would include 2nd in Pass Attempts in his career (Brett Farve has the most with 10,169). He is first in Passing Yards, Passing Touchdowns, Passing Yards/Game, Passes Completed/Game and others.

However, the one thing that looms over him is the fact that he only has one Super Bowl win. The Saints defeated the Colts back in 2010 to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history. It seems that people will use Super Bowl wins to claim if someone is the GOAT. The Saints are projected as the third seed as of this writing. The Seahawks and Packers are also 11-3, so it could change when the season is over. If Brees is able to win the Super Bowl, then there should be no reason why he isn’t in the GOAT discussion. Yes, Tom Brady would still have more rings than him, but Brees owns many of the top passing records.

Let us know in the comments who in your opinion is the GOAT of the NFL.
