NFL: Jalen Ramsey Has No Leg to Stand on With His QB Comments
We are two weeks into preseason for the NFL. It now seems that Jackson Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey decided he wanted to take this opportunity to critic a majority of the NFL quarterbacks in the league. There are a few that he went after that wasn’t shocking. Ramsey said Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers don’t suck. That isn’t breaking news. However, there are two he went after that make him look stupid. These are New York Giants QB Eli Manning and Buffalo Bills, QB Josh Allen.
We will first look at what Jalen Ramsey said about Josh Allen and why he was stupid. He said that Josh Allen was trash. As of this writing, Allen had yet to take a NFL regular season snap. Ramsey was basing it off of the fact that Allen played for Wyoming. Especially when it came time to play a big school, Allen didn’t have great numbers. It’s a bit far-fetched to say someone is trash if they have never taken a regular season snap in the NFL.
Also, his comments about Eli Manning are laughable for one reason. The line that Ramsey would end up using is that OBJ makes him good. There is so much bull to that line, I don’t know where to begin. For starters, OBJ hasn’t been in the NFL that long and has been derailed by injuries as of late. When OBJ is at his full potential, he is arguably one of the leagues best wide receivers. However, Eli Manning has been decent for most of his run. He won two super bowls against the New England Patriots, not something many can say. In addition, Eli did have good seasons prior to OBJ.
My response to Jalen Ramsey is this: You have no leg to stand on. Yes, your QB is good, but choked when it mattered the most. In fact, let’s not forget how in that same AFC Championship Game, the defense (which you are apart of) would end up giving up the lead to the Patriots in one-quarter. Thus, you should be worried about how to get Jacksonville to the Super Bowl and not worry about how other quarterbacks are doing.
