NFL Panic Mode: 2021 Conference Championship Edition

NFL Dolphins vs Chiefs

Four teams went home, 4 teams still remain in the NFL Playoffs. Why should each team’s fans panic mode one game before the Super Bowl?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay absolutely destroyed the Packers earlier this season but as we know in today’s NFL, it’s hard to beat a team twice. This was the lone game the Pack has scored less than 20 points all season. The Packers have scored 30+ 7 of their last 8 matchups so Tampa Bay will need to play mistake-free football to keep the pace.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay is on a tear against the rest of the NFL this year, but this is the postseason. If you’re a betting man, you’ve learned multiple times not to bet against Tom Brady in the postseason. Tampa Bay showed us against the surging New Orleans Saints that Tom Brady is on a whole different level. Nothing against them, but the Packers aren’t facing Mitch Trubisky or Jared Goff anymore. After sending off Drew Brees after their win Sunday, Tom might be thinking of life after football and going out on top. Never underestimate Tom Brady in the playoffs no matter how big your lead is.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills did exactly what they needed to do to beat the Baltimore Ravens. With one of the worst run defenses in the league, the Bills doubled down to protect against the run and force Lamar Jackson to beat them with his arm. Luckily for them, it played to their strengths. Unfortunately, Patrick Mahomes is no Lamar Jackson. While Mahomes can beat you with his legs, he also thrives in the passing game. In order for the Buffalo Bills to walk away with a win, they’ll need to play a complete game on defense.

Kansas City Chiefs

This will be the ultimate statement game for Buffalo. The Chiefs are on their way to being the NFL’s next dynasty but the Bills want to show they’re for real. Momentum might give Buffalo the energy they didn’t have in week 6. Buffalo isn’t the same team that lost by 9 points that week. Somewhere between then and now they’ve hit their stride on offense. If they go in with the same game plan as week 6, Buffalo will walk away victorious.

This is the big game before the big dance. The NFL season is over for half the teams this weekend. Who’s going to the Super Bowl and who’s going home?
