NFL: President Trump un-invites the Philadelphia Eagles to the White House for a dumb reason

President Donald Trump has been in office for a bit over a year. In his 137 days of being the President, he seems to be rewriting history. One of the things that seem to be stopping is a team visiting the White House after they win the championship. It’s worth noting that sports teams visiting the White House dates all the way back to August 30, 1865, when President Andrew Johnson would end up welcoming the Brooklyn Atlantics and Washington Nationals amateur baseball clubs. The first professional team to visit the White House was the Cincinnati Red Stockings in 1869 under President Ulysses S. Grant. This tradition has gone on for 149 years. The latest came when he uninvited the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

If you recall, the NFL was in a bit of hot water when San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick would end up kneeling during the National Anthem. We would end up seeing several other players follow suit. The whole issue of kneeling was dying out until President Donald Trump opened his mouth at a rally by saying, “You should get those sons of b*tches off the field.”

Since then, it took on a whole another meaning that was never the attended reason. Fast forward to now, the Philadelphia Eagles were uninvited to the White House because they didn’t agree about standing for the national anthem. I’m sorry, but I need to call bull to a few things with Trump’s stance. For starters, Kaepernick has gone on record a slew of times by saying that he was kneeling to protest the police brutality, not the military.. Second off, there isn’t any record of any Eagles players kneeling during the time when Colin Kaepernick did it.

Personally, this comes down to one thing. It seems that if you don’t agree with the President or the White House you aren’t allowed there. That isn’t a President. It’s a baby who isn’t getting what he wants. The White House should be welcoming no matter where you stand on the line. However, it seems that as long as Trump is the President you need to agree with him.
