NFL: Preview and Prediction for New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys for Week 1

Saquon Barkley

Well folks, the time has come. OTA’s and Training Camp are over. The New York Giants are set to begin the 2019 season in the same place they have for the last couple of seasons. For the fourth time in the last five years, the New York Giants are set to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The only time the Giants and Cowboys didn’t open the season playing each other was in 2018. The Dallas Cowboys took on the Carolina Panthers to open the 2018 season.

This game will be interesting for a couple of reasons. On the side of Dallas, Ezekiel Elliott workload. He recently ended his holdout and signed the contract. By making Elliot a non-factor, the Giants would be able to make Dak Prescott a one-dimensional passer. However, that hasn’t always gone in favor of the Giants. In six matchups, Dak Prescott is 4-2 when taking on the Giants. It’s worth noting that he has had games where he has thrown for 330+ and looked like a star. In addition, there’s been games where he can barely throw 150 yards.

The Giants come into the game, not in great shape. They have gone through the whole offseason dealing with crap from the New York Media and fans on the ending of Odell Beckham Jr. However, fans should figure to see Sterling Sheppard and Evan Engram make Odell seem like yesterday. 2018 was a bad season for the Giants. However, they did turn it around after a week 9 bye. It will be interesting to see if they are able to continue that trend in the early stages of the season.

My prediction is New York Giants 17- Dallas Cowboys 14

The Giants play any of the NFC East teams differently than any other team. Fans should expect this to be a fight on the field between two teams who have fought tooth and nail with each other.
