NFL Rumors: Dez Bryant To Sign With Cleveland Browns Or Pittsburgh Steelers?

The Dez Bryant saga is not over yet, but it’s getting closer to the finish line. According to rumors, Bryant could choose between the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers to join for the 2018-19 NFL season. Since being released by the Dallas Cowboys this summer, Bryant, still a productive receiver has made headlines in the social media world and not on the field.

With preseason set to begin in a few weeks, teams are now reaching out to see what Bryant’s price tag is and to see if he can fit his skills in with another system.

By choosing the Cleveland Browns, Dez Bryant will be paired with Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon in what should be one exciting offense. With the Browns coming off their 0-16 season, they have been busy this offseason adding veteran talent as they try to make a run in the tough AFC North. Adding a talent like Byrant would give Tyrod Taylor one of the best receiving corps in the NFL.

For the Pittsburgh Steelers, much of the same if they can manage to snag Bryant. Here is an offense that will showcase Le’Veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster. With the Steelers already regarded as one of the elite offensive teams, the addition of Bryant would make them heavy favorites to come out of the AFC. If it’s up to AB, this would be a done deal.

But the big issue is– is Dez Bryant football ready?

Will It Be The Cleveland Browns Or Pittsburgh Steelers For Bryant?

Dez has not been involved in any OTA’s but it’s his mental state that has teams a bit worried. Instead of focusing his attention on his next contract, he’s been engaging in a war of words with the likes of Skip Bayless, the Cowboys, and fans. If the Cleveland Browns or Steelers can find a reason to sign him, Bryant will enter camp with a chip on his shoulder as he still believes he’s one of the elite pass catchers in the league.

Despite his numbers taking a dip with the addition of Dak Prescott ad Ezekiel Elliott, Bryant’s release was more of a cap situation than anything else according to reports. Maybe he was a bit of a drama queen, but it will hard for any team to keep letting Bryant sit on the couch. The best play here is for the Pittsburgh Steelers or Cleveland Browns to sign him to a “prove it” contract and see what happens from there.
