NFL Rumors: Trent Williams of the Washington Redskins Could Retire
According to Bleacher Report, Trent Willimas of the Washington Redskins could walk away from the game the same way Andrew Luck just did. Both players have suffered injuries that may force both to give up the game they love.
According to Brad Gagon, Williams has a lot in common with Luck and we shouldn’t be surprised if he does inform the Redskins and the NFL that he’s done.
Gagon would also go on to say this about Trent Williams when comparing him to Luck and his financial standing:
The veteran offensive tackle should be just about as financially secure as Luck, having earned $95.2 million in nine seasons, and he is 14 months older than the former Indianapolis Colts signal-caller.
While he should be able to maintain a certain lifestyle, it’s also worth noting that he will still want to enjoy a living and functional one. This is why some do believe that retiring could be in the cards for Williams.
This summer, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports had this to say in a tweet:
Right now, this is all speculation and rumor mill stuff but Williams has said that he has lost faith in the Redskins’ Medical Staff. If he does, in fact, decide to retire, he will be doing do for health reason and not because he does not love the game.
