NFL: Teams In Panic Mode After Week 4 (2021)

NFL Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger

Week 4 of NFL action has teams smashing the panic button like contestants on the classic game show Press Your Luck. It was an ugly week for many teams so let’s dive right in.

Tennessee Titans

Tennessee losing to the 0-3 New York Jets isn’t as bad as it seems as the NFL is an “any given Sunday” league. However, losing to a winless team while looking nowhere near the playoff team they were the year before should be concerning. This should be the year they’re pushing for a Super Bowl and they look like they’re regressing. Luckily for them, they’re probably still going to win a very weak division.

Miami Dolphins

Another team losing to a winless team, and the Dolphins should be winless themselves. Speaking of not looking like they did last season, Miami won 10 games last year and is looking like they won’t win a second this year. Dolfans can’t even sell me on the fact it’s their backup quarterback and they might look different when Tua comes back. So far, they’ve had one of the worst offensive lines in football and their defense is getting beat, bad.

Atlanta Falcons

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, the Atlanta Falcons blew a lead in the fourth quarter. What should make fans even more skeptical is there 1-3 start that has them looking like they’re in need of a rebuild. In a year where so many teams were looking for a quick-fix veteran quarterback, Atlanta should’ve got an early jump on it and traded Matt Ryan. He deserves to go somewhere and compete, they need the draft picks. Kyle Pitts wasn’t going to fix this stumbling offense and they could’ve got at least a 1st and 2nd round pick out of Ryan. Next year they might move on, but it’s probably too late.

Los Angeles Rams

Maybe the Rams threw everything they had at beating Tom Brady in revenge for their Super Bowl loss a few years back. Now the team that was touted as the best in the NFL got beat by the next best in that conversation. The Cardinals came in and made a statement that last year was a fluke.  A healthy Chandler Jones changed the look of this team and the Rams will now have to keep pace with the new division leader.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Another week, another ugly loss for the Pittsburgh Steelers. As it stands, the organization has come out and said that Big Ben is their best option at quarterback. While that may true, it’s still a very low bar. Pittsburgh is proving their 11-win season to start last year was a total fluke and that we’re seeing the end of the veteran QBs career. However, Pitt is strapped for cash and if they don’t go out and spend on a big-time free agent Qb to fix the problem, they’ll waste the careers of their young talent.

Come back next week for who’s next to be in Panic Mode.
