We are set to wrap up Week 1 in the 2019 NFL Season. It was a rather interesting week that saw a tie for the second straight season, the Miami Dolphins suffered one of their worst regular season losses to the Baltimore Ravens, and the New England Patriots destroyed the Steelers. I wanted to look at three teams who were major disappoints in the opening week.

1- Detroit Lions ( Blew an 18 point lead)- The Detroit Lions took on the Arizonia Cardinals. The Lions did have a 17-6 lead going into the fourth quarter. With how well the Lions should of been in line for an impressive win. However, the defense took their foot off the pedal. By doing this, Kyle Murray and the Cardinals were able to make a massive comeback. They ended up forcing overtime. However, neither team was able to score and thus we have our second straight tie in the NFL. In the opening week of the 2018 season, the Steelers and Browns ended up in a tie as well.

2- New York Jets (Blew a 16 point lead)- The New York Jets took on the Buffalo Bills. It seemed everything was clicking. They had a safety, defensive touchdown, and were playing average. Then CJ Mosley went down with a groin injury and the shit hit the fan. The Bills were able to come back and win 17-16. They were up 16-3 going into the fourth quarter at home. In the offseason, a lot of teams thought the Jets were going to be a possible playoff team. Now that they lost to the Buffalo Bills, they need to beat a team that no one thinks they can beat. The next several weeks are going to be tough for the Jets. They play the Browns, Patriots, Eagles, Cowboys, Patriots, and Jaguars. Then they get Miami Dolphins on 11/3.

3- Cleveland Browns (loss 43-13 to the Titans)- In the offseason, the expectations for the Browns grew larger. It didn’t look good when they played the Titans and crapped the bed. I don’t care what team you are, when your flagged 18 times, you aren’t going to win. Let’s not forget the Browns turned the ball over three times. If the Browns want to compete with the Ravens in the AFC North, they can’t make this mistakes.
