Undisputed Era: Will They Walk Out of Portland With No Belts?
NXT has been doing Takeover events since 2014. On Sunday night, they are set to hold a standalone with Takeover Portland. There are six matches on the card and on paper could be in the running for the event of the year. Undisputed Era has been in NXT for a while now and Sunday night could be a bad night for them. Before NXT made the move to the USA Network, Adam Cole made the promise that the UE would have all the titles. For a few weeks, the Undisputed Era had every men’s title in NXT.
Unfortunately, Rodrick Strong was the first UE member to lose his belt. This is when he would end up losing to Keith Lee. On Sunday night, Adam Cole is set to defend his NXT title against Tommaso Ciampa.
More NXT: Where To Go With the Tag Titles
In regards to the Tag titles, they will be on the line as Kyle O’ Reily and Bobby Fish will defend the titles against Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle, who won the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Classic Lets first look at the tag title match, this is the one that has garnered a ton of interest because the end result could be many different things.
The least likely one is Undisputed Era retaining the tag titles. Since the UE has been in NXT, they have dominated the tag team division. Riddle and Dunne are on fire lately and that will carry them into the match on Sunday night.
The NXT title match between Ciampa and Cole is impossible to figure out. Adam Cole has become a staple in NXT. However, he doesn’t have anything else to prove. So I could see Ciampa winning here. I wouldn’t mind seeing Cole win, but my only problem is he doesn’t need the belt anymore. He is over enough with the NXT crowd and doesn’t need the belt.
My prediction is that the Undisputed Era walks out of Portland with no belts, but it will make for an interesting episode this Wednesday.
