NXT: The Teams for War Games Seem to Be Clear
The latest episode of NXT had a phenomenal main event. For the first time in the history of NXT, we got a champion vs. champion match. It would end up being the NXT North American Champion Ricochet taking on the NXT UK Champion Pete Dunne. These guys had a classic match and one that people will be talking about for years to come. For the purposes of this piece, I won’t be talking about the match but what happened towards the end of the match. In addition, the end of the match became a major clue to how NXT is booking heading into War Games in November.
Towards the end of the match, both Ricochet and Pete Dunne were running on fumes already. As Ricochet was about to make the pin, Undisputed Era would end up interfering in the match. As they were beating up Pete Dunne and Ricochet, the War Raiders came out to even the odds. This part wasn’t shown on TV, but I read Oney Lorcan, and Danny Burch came out as well. With War Games a couple of weeks away, I think we have our War Games teams. Coming off of this episode, it will be Undisputed Era vs. War Raiders with Ricochet vs. Oney Lorcan/Danny Burch and Pete Dunne.
This would make the most sense from a booking aspect as there are storylines already built in with all nine superstars. Undisputed Era is currently feuding with the War Raiders. Adam Cole and Ricochet are feuding. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch have a gripe with Undisputed Era. Ricochet and Pete Dunne have unfinished business. Pete Dunne also has issues with Undisputed Era. The next set of tapings is coming up soon. We would get a better answer to that when NXT returns to Full Sail for tapings.
