NXT War Games: We Are Line for Another Great Takeover
In a couple of weeks, WWE and NXT will take over the Los Angeles area for War Games and Survivor Series. It typically goes that the NXT event will be on the day before the main roster event. As of now, we only know of three matches for the War Games card. They are Tommaso Ciampa defending the NXT title against Velveteen Dream. We will also see Alesiter Black take on Johnny Gargano. Finally, we will get our War Games match as the entire Undisputed Era team takes on WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne, War Raiders, and NXT North American Champion Ricochet.
I suspect we will probably get a match between Ohno and Matt Riddle. In addition, we will probably get one of two types of matches regarding the women of NXT. We could get Shayna Bazler and her UFC buddies take on Kari Sane, Io Sharia, and someone else in a six-woman tag match. The other option is you have Shayna Bazler take on someone new at War Games. Some of them could be Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, or another face. While I don’t have any doubt that this will be another great card, there is one thing I don’t understand. In the NXT title match, we will see Tommaso Ciampa take on Velveteen Dream. Both guys are talented in-ring workers. In addition, they are probably within the top 5 of heels on both NXT and the main roster. The fact that they are both.
You never see a heel vs. heel program work because the crowd has no one to stand behind and cheer. My guess is we will Dream get booked as a babyface. It would be foolish to see Ciampa get the babyface treatment. But other than that, I am looking forward to the card as I suspect it will be the best show of the weekend.
Let us know in the comments below what you are looking forward to at War Games. Tune in every Wednesday night from 9-11 pm to the Comeback Wrestling show as I talk all things wrestling, including the build for War Games.
