NXT: What should the direction be after War Games
NXT held their annual War Games event. In the 2019 edition, we saw a woman’s War Game for the first time. Finn Balor defeated Matt Riddle, Pete Dunne became the #1 contender for the NXT title, and Team Ciampa took down the Undisputed Era. Now that War Games is behind us and the next big thing for NXT is the night before Royal Rumble when Worlds Collide in NXT taking on NXT UK.
Here are some things I hope we see
1- Rhea Ripley should gun for Shayna Bazler: If there was one person who had a phenomenal weekend, it has to be Rhea Ripley. She won for her team in the War Games match. At Survivor Series, she came to show everyone who she was. She became a star this weekend. Now going further, it would make sense to have her go after the NXT Woman’s title. In all honesty, I would have her be the one to dethrone Bazler. As far as when do you pull the trigger, that’s where it get interesting. You shouldn’t do it at World’s Collide cause that’s too soon. However, you could do that at the February Takeover or the Takeover before WrestleMania 36.
2- Keith Lee should be included in the main event scene- Keith Lee has spent most of 2019 in the midcard of NXT. However, in the weeks leading up to Survivor Series has become more prominent. With War Games behind us, I would like Keith Lee get a larger role. This could be the best way to get him an NXT title match with Adam Cole.
3- Finn Balor should be kept out of the title picture for a while- Finn Balor recently came back to NXT after being on the roster for four years. In his return, he would turn heel. His first match in NXT on his comeback was with Matt Riddle. After this Riddle feud is over, Balor and Gargano should cross paths. Depending on who is holding the title by that point and that would determine if Balor gets a title opportunity.
Those are the top three things I am looking at with NXT with War Games behind us. Let us know in the comments below to what you would like to see happen in NXT.
